Summary of Pool Games

The team improved with every game, and it was an opportunity to let the rookies have a good run with lots of game time as most of the other teams were not highly skilled.

The tournament organizer was also kind to allow us to rotate our 13th player with each game. (IRB & CFR).

We managed to win 4 out of 5 pool games and qualified for the Cup Finals against Thailand.

Game 6 – Cup Finals Spore vs Thailand

Time: 1630

Score: 0 – 22 (Lost)

Summary of Tournament

This was a good tournament to provide exposure for our younger players and it also proved to be a good platform to benchmark our training programme.

In the last 2 times we met Thailand this year, we were outrun by their speedy wingers and they also went through our defences in the middle of the park. In the Cup Final for this tournament, we had our defenders being able to contact them (but missed tackle), and there were not breaks through our defence in the middle. All their tries were scored out wide, but that gap has closed and were able to get within 3m of them on the run.

We look forward to continuing our training programme and preparing our team in terms of speed and defence systems in preparation for the upcoming S.E.A. games in December.
